Following is a brief description of our company and our capabilities.
In the aircraft and transportation industries we produce seamless, lightweight,
complex shape plastic components for:
- ECS (Electronic Cooling System) Ducting
- Air Conditioning / Ventilation Ducting
- APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) & AHU (Auxiliary Heating Unit) ducting
- Fluid Containment / Dispensing Vessels (fuels, oils, water, etc)
- Protective Housings / Covers
Many of these products are rotationally
molded using a fire retardant Nylon 12 material. This material
meets the vertical burn requirements of FAR 25.853. Continuous
operational temperature is 180°F (82°C) with intermittent service up
to 280°F (138°C). A copy of the data sheet for this material is
available on the Self Service Literature
page. For examples of parts molded using this material, visit
our Photo Gallery.
Typical cost saving applications for the rotational molding process
includes, but are not limited to, Kevlar and aluminum duct replacement.
The process is used extensively in the commercial and military aerospace
industries. Individual part prices are considerably less expensive
than their composite or aluminum counterparts. In one case recently,
all of the non-recurring tooling costs were recouped by the completion
of the sixth aircraft when replacing composite ductwork.
When compared to other thermoplastic processes, tooling prices are
much less expensive than injection mold tooling and very economical
as compared to other methods of molding such as blow molding.
We are prepared to provide turnkey service. Our state-of-the-art
facility in Fountain, Colorado
is vertically integrated and fully equipped with in house design engineering,
CNC robotic milling and turning machine centers, rotational molding,
injection and compression molding, plastic compounding, twin screw reactive
extrusion, metal and plastic welding, assembly and a CMM inspection
department. Data can be exchanged electronically with virtually
any three-dimensional CAD system. Our rotational molding line
includes equipment allowing us to mold parts up to seven feet in diameter
and twenty feet in length.
