RMB’s vertical integration begins with custom material formulation and
compounding. This, combined with our cryogenic converter, allow us to formulate raw materials to exact specifications. This enables you to produce the highest quality end product.
In the past, the availability of diverse materials for the rotational molding industry has been very limited. Traditional rotational molders primarily used Polyethylenes, Polycarbonates, and Vinyl
Plastisols. In many cases the resins that are available are simply size-reduced injection mold grades. While this method does provide materials for certain
applications, it is not the optimal solution for the rotational molding industry.
Seeing this as a problem for the entire industry, RMB began developing custom formulations in the mid 1980’s to fill
this void. One such formulation is RMB 435, a fire-retardant polyamide (Nylon 12) developed specifically for rotational molding. This material is used extensively in aircraft applications such as ECS, ventilation and air conditioning ducting, fluid reservoirs, APU and AHU ducting and more.
In addition to the various grades of Nylon 12’s in our inventory, we also offer a custom formulated Polypropylene,
Solef PDVF and Acetal. Materials can be color matched to your requirement.
